Saturday morning talk at y Gaer

  • Brecknock Society and Museum Friends c/o Brecknock Museum, Captain’s Walk Brecon, Wales, LD3 7DS United Kingdom (map)

While the Brecon and Abergavenny Canal Company constructed and maintained the canal, it was the Brecon Boat Company that, between 1795 and the 1860s, organised most of the transportation of coal and limestone up to Brecon. It also carried some goods in the other direction.
John Gibbs will describe the work of the company and the life of some of its agents and their families.
